Expanded Coverage for Sharjah Citizens

Under law No. (5) of 2018 addressing social security in the Emirate of Sharjah. The insurance protection extends to all citizens of the Emirate working in the departments, institutions, and authorities of the Sharjah Government, as well as in the private sector entities in which the government holds a stake, in addition to the children of female citizens registered in the Emirate. This pioneering initiative reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who seeks to ensure a dignified life for his subjects covered by this law and their families by providing them with a continuous monthly income in cases of loss of earning capacity, guaranteeing a decent living for them and for the eligible dependents in case of the loss of the breadwinner. It aims to preserve human capital and provide financial and emotional stability for the insured, thereby contributing to increased productivity. Additionally, it aims to improve the health level of the community through insurance against work injuries and occupational diseases, foster a spirit of citizenship among community members, contribute to investment and economic development projects with profitable returns in various production and service sectors, create new job opportunities across the Emirate, and deepen the values and concepts of solidarity and social cohesion among community members.
