Sharjah Social Security Fund confirmed that the calculation of pension insurance with its various benefits is based on the contribution salary in the government and semi-government sectors. The Social Security Law in the Emirate of Sharjah No. 5 of 2018 states that the insurance benefits for the insured in the government and semi-government sectors are calculated based on the contribution salary, which consists of five elements: the basic salary, cost of living allowance, social allowance, children’s allowance, and the academic degree allowance for a master’s or doctorate.

The fund explained that these elements all contribute to determining the value of the retirement pension, along with the years of subscription, making them essential for employees insured by the fund.
The fund also highlighted that these five elements play a significant role in achieving prosperity and empowerment for employees after retirement. The academic degree allowance encourages employees to continue developing their skills and increasing their qualifications, opening new doors for job opportunities and career advancement, and enhancing their ability to achieve financial independence and personal empowerment after their service period.
