The Sharjah Social Security Fund emphasized the importance of adhering to its subscription regulations in line with the Social Security Law in the emirate. This is part of its efforts to achieve job stability, enhance the relationship between employees and their work, expand the scope of social solidarity, and achieve social protection and security for citizens.
These regulations indicate that the insured must be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates holding a family book and the child of a citizen mother who holds a Sharjah registration, as the provisions of this law apply to them. The age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 60 years for men and 55 years for women.
The fund stressed the importance of physical fitness, stating that the insured must be medically fit for work and that the appointment should not be temporary, daily, or for training periods prior to appointment.
The fund is responsible for implementing Law No. (5) of 2018 regarding social security in the Emirate of Sharjah. Its legal provisions are considered the best in terms of solidarity and inclusiveness, according to the best international standards. The insurance protection umbrella extends to all citizens of the emirate working in the departments, institutions, and bodies of the Sharjah Government and the private sector in which the government contributes, in addition to the children of citizen mothers registered in the emirate.
The fund pointed out that the main goal of these regulations is to provide comprehensive social protection for citizens and their family members and to ensure full care for them in accordance with the provisions and regulations of the law in force in the emirate.
The Sharjah Social Security Fund is keen to translate the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who calls for supporting and monitoring the social affairs and living conditions of the emirate’s citizens and working to provide means of decent living and social stability.
